De eerste speeldag van 2024 brengt meteen heel wat teweeg in het CPL-trainerslandschap. Na het – al dan niet verplicht – opstappen van Michael Jonckheere (KV Oostende) en de stopzetting van de samenwerking tussen Lierse en Jo Christiaens, kwam er nu ook een breuk tussen RFC Seraing en GrΓ©gory Proment.

De Fransman besloot zelf om maandag zijn ontslag in te dienen nadat Seraing zondag met zware 1-5 cijfers had verloren van degradatieconcurrent Francs Borains. Proment was nog maar sinds het begin van het seizoen actief als T1 nadat hij vorig jaar als assistent in de schaduw van JosΓ© Jeunechamps werkte.

Seraing aanvaardde het ontslag van de 45-jarige Parijzenaar en moet nu dus zo snel mogelijk op zoek naar een vervanger. De JPL-degradant staat na 17 speeldagen op de voorlaatste plaats in de CPL. Enkel mededegradant KV Oostende telt nog minder punten.
