De vrijdagwedstrijden van de 28e speeldag in de CPL hebben slechts drie goals opgeleverd. In Zulte Waregem – Patro Eisden werd er niet (geldig) gescoord. SK Beveren kon dan weer haar eerste wedstrijd in het post-De Decker tijdperk winnen. De Waaslanders klopten RSCA Futures met 2-1.
In een vrij evenwichtige wedstrijd kon Zulte Waregem geen afstand nemen van het altijd stugge Patro Eisden. De Limburgers hielden voor de zevende keer in tien duels de nul en houden zo Essevee af in de stand. In de eerste helft zag Vossen een goal terecht afgekeurd worden voor buitenspel terwijl Patro lichtjes dreigde via Noubissi en Dansoko. Ook na de pauze slaagde Zulte Waregem er niet in om de Maasmechelse code te kraken waardoor de 0-0 dus op het bord bleef.
Door dit gelijke spel blijft Patro sowieso in de running voor de top twee terwijl Zulte Waregem straks uit de top zes gekegeld kan worden als RFC Luik haar duel wint op Francs Borains.

In de andere wedstrijd dikte topschutter Koyalipou zijn totaal nog wat aan door al vroeg in de match de openingsgoal te scoren tegen RSCA Futures. De Brusselaars wisten de voorsprong wel vrij snel uit dankzij Colassin, maar nog voor het halfuur zette Wuytens Beveren opnieuw op voorsprong.
Na de pauze beperkte Beveren zich vooral tot het verdedigen van de 2-1 voorsprong. RSCA Futures kwam – vooral in de slotfase – nog enkele keren gevaarlijk opzetten. Maar Reus stond pal op een poging van Maamar terwijl Colassin bij de laatste actie van de match de ultieme gelijkmaker nipt naast mikte. Door deze zege behoudt Beveren een waterkans op een plekje in de top zes.
