Begin april kregen 9 van de 12 profclubs uit de Challenger Pro League een proflicentie voor het seizoen 2024-2025. Voor de drie anderen – Patro Eisden, Francs Borains en KV Oostende – begon een race tegen de klok om de licentie alsnog binnen te halen. Patro en Francs Borains wonnen die race; KVO niet.

De drie clubs kwamen eerder deze week al op de proppen met officieus nieuws over hun proflicentie; vrijdag werd dat nieuws officieel bevestigd. Patro Eisden kreeg een licentie voor 1A en 1B terwijl het dossier van Francs Borains voldoende werd geacht voor 1B. Beide teams mogen volgend seizoen dus gewoon opnieuw aantreden in de Challenger Pro League.

KV Oostende vond – zoals eerder reeds gemeld – geen investeerder die het licentiedossier (en de toekomst) van de club kon redden waardoor de club op 3 juni het faillissement zal aanvragen.
