Lommel SK mag blijven hopen op een plekje in de Jupiler Pro League. De Limburgers wonnen zondagmiddag met 1-2 op het veld van SK Deinze en winnen zo de Promotion Play-offs van de CPL. Lommel mag zo naar de barrages die gaan beslissen over het laatste ticketje voor het komende 1A-seizoen; KV Kortrijk wordt daarin de tegenstander.

Na de 1-1 uit de heenwedstrijd kon de terugmatch in de Dakota Arena nog alle kanten op. Deinze had – als beste thuisploeg van 1B – op papier het voordeel, maar op het veld was het toch vooral Lommel dat in de eerste helft de lakens uitdeelde. Toch duurde het tot minuut 41 vooraleer het overwicht omgezet kon worden in een doelpunt. Talvitie kwam goed naar binnen en nam Miras (via een deviatie van Prychynenko) te grazen.

In een evenwichtigere tweede helft kon Mertens iets na het uur Deinze toch weer langszij brengen. De Oost-Vlamingen leken vanaf dan op en over de Limburgers te gaan, maar dat was buiten een flits van het trio Karim – Sales – Rosa gerekend. Rosa was het eindstation van een fraaie combinatie en trapte staalhard de beslissende 1-2 tegen de touwen.
