Ondanks de financiële malaise en de onzekerheid over de toekomst, blijft er toch ook goed nieuws naar KV Oostende vloeien. Na de competitiewinst tegen Zulte Waregem, de bekerwinst tegen RWDM en de voorlopige bewindvoering via de rechtbank, krijgt de club nu ook nog eens drie punten terug.

KV Oostende kreeg enkele weken geleden een puntenaftrek van 3 én 6 punten en zakte daarmee helemaal weg in het algemene klassement van de Challenger Pro League. Maar de club vocht die beslissing aan bij het Belgisch Centrum voor Arbitrage in de Sportsector (C-Sar). Daar werd nu geoordeeld dat de kustploeg drie verloren punten mag recupereren. De andere zes verliespunten, de ‘squad size limit’ en het transferverbod blijven wel steken in de Oostendse rugzak.

Met de toevoeging van de drie punten blijft KV Oostende nog wel altijd laatste in de ranking. Maar de club heeft de kloof met de andere staartploegen wel gedicht. Seraing (14 punten), SL16 FC (15 punten) en Francs Borains (16 punten) staan weer binnen het bereik van de veerkrachtige kustjongens (13 punten).
