Francs Borains en KV Oostende speelden woensdagavond de laatste inhaalwedstrijd van de 18e speeldag. Francs Borains kon via een zege uit de greep van het degradatiespook blijven, maar KV Oostende graaide de drie punten mee en trekt zo Francs Borains én Lierse mee in het degradatiebad.

In een weinig enerverende match was het invaller Daniel Perez die zich tot matchwinnaar kroonde. De huurling van Club Brugge had amper tien minuten nodig om de openingsgoal te scoren (met een fraai hakje) en om Siebe Wylin op weg te zetten naar de beslissende 0-2.

Dankzij deze zege kruipt KV Oostende opnieuw weg van de degradatieplekken. De Kustploeg wipt over RFC Seraing en Lierse naar plek 13. Francs Borains telt nu nog maar één puntje meer dan KVO en krijgt ook de hete adem van Seraing in de nek. Het verschil tussen het nummer 12 (Francs Borains) en het nummer 15 (RFC Seraing) bedraagt amper twee punten.
