Lommel SK slaagde er vorige zondag in eigen huis niet in om een goede uitgangspositie te verwerven in de 1A-barrages tegen KV Kortrijk. De Limburgers gingen met 0-1 onderuit na een penaltygoal van Kadri. Geen al te best resultaat, maar door het spel dat Lommel op de mat legde mogen Lucas Schoofs en co toch met vertrouwen richting het Guldensporenstadion reizen.

Bovendien wordt de Lommelse waakvlam ook wat extra aangewakkerd door een niet te onderschatten statistiek. In 20 van de laatste 21 CPL-duels die de Noord-Limburgers afwerkten, scoorden ze namelijk minstens 1x.

De enige match waarin Lommel niet wist te scoren was in de derby op het veld van Patro Eisden. Daarin ging Lommel met droge 3-0 cijfers onderuit nadat Dries Wouters al in de eerste helft werd uitgesloten. Pikant detail: de ref van die match (Bert Put) fluit zondag ook de clash in het Guldensporenstadion.

In de 21 meest recente uitduels scoorde Lommel uiteindelijk 34x; in 10 duels scoorde het meer dan 1x. Minpuntje is wel dat de Lommelse defensie ook slechts 5x de nul hield.

Sterk in West-Vlaanderen

En er is nog een statistiek die een extra sprankeltje hoop kan geven. Lommel verloor dit seizoen nog niet op West-Vlaamse bodem. KV Oostende (0-1), Club NXT (0-2) en Zulte Waregem (0-3) werden geklopt in de reguliere competitie én konden niet scoren tegen Lommel. In de Promotion Play-offs slaagde Zulte Waregem er – via een penalty – wél in om te scoren tegen Lommel. Die match eindigde uiteindelijk op 1-1.
