Op de laatste speeldag van de Relegation Play-offs zijn KV Kortrijk noch RWDM erin geslaagd om punten te pakken in hun wedstrijd van de laatste kans. Hierdoor mag KV Kortrijk zich opmaken voor een barrage tegen de winnaar van de Promotion Play-offs (Deinze of Lommel) terwijl RWDM na amper één seizoen in 1A alweer naar 1B zakt.

RWDM ging met 2-0 de boot in bij het reeds tot degradatie veroordeelde AS Eupen en ziet haar verblijf op het hoogste niveau zo beperkt tot amper één seizoen. Door de nederlaag van de Brusselaars was het verlies van concurrent KV Kortrijk (3-1 bij Charleroi) van geen belang meer. KVK gaat naar de barrages.

Opvallend: bij de basisploeg die zaterdag de degradatie niet kon ontlopen stond er met Mickaël Biron slechts één RWDM-speler op het veld die vorig seizoen een aandeel had in de titel van de Brusselaars. Romildo Del Piage was de laatste maanden van vorig seizoen ook al wel aanwezig in het Edmond Machtensstadion, maar hij speelde toen geen enkele wedstrijd.
